My name is Grace Mathayo Oletara. I am 13 years old. I am from Eorendeke in Tanzania. I have no father, and my mother has 4 children. My mother cannot afford to send me to school. She works hard trying to sell tea in order to feed us. My other siblings finished primary school, but there was no money to send them to high school. If I do not go to high school I will have to just stay home and take care of the goats, but I want to get a job in the medical profession. I would be the first in my family to go past Primary School.

My name is Glory Lowasa. I am a 14 year old girl from Gilai in Tanzania. I have no father. My mother has 4 children. I have no one to help me go to high school. I have tried asking the villagers if they could help me but there is still not help for me. My village is so poor. My mom has been crazy since I was in class two. Someone saw me on the streets without a home and she brought me to live with her for a year. Despite my life, I did well on my Primary exam, and an education coordinator brought me to Faces 4 Hope to get help. My dream is to be a nurse.

My father wants me to get married, so he will be forcing me to get married if I do not continue in school. Since I was in Class 4, my father has been trying to force me to get married, and has a fiancé for me, who I do not know and who is old. Someone took me to my pastor’s house to be safe from being sold. It is not safe for me to ever go back home anymore. I want to work in the medical field.
